Humanities?

Writing?

No problem.

Helping students understand ideas, write confidently and make learning finally click.

About

I’ve been teaching Singaporean students since 2017, specialising in O-Level English, Geography and Social Studies, as well as A-Level General Paper.

As a Geography graduate and professional writer, I believe that good writing begins with understanding, not blindly memorising templates and definitely not forcing them into every question.

More often than not, students already have good ideas and useful knowledge. They simply need help making the right connections and expressing themselves clearly.

That is what I hope to do for your child: help them understand what they are learning, find their own voice and become more confident in their writing.

Frequently-asked Questions

Are lessons conducted in groups?

No. I focus exclusively on one-to-one tutoring so that every lesson can be adapted to the student.

How exactly are you different from other tutors who claim to 'help my child understand concepts rather than memorise them'?

Students learn in many different ways. Students may study good examples, but they will not be taught to depend blindly on templates taught in school like PEEL, OREO, etc. One of my goals is to help them understand why an answer works and apply those principles independently.

I also love learning about my students' interests. Minecraft? Roblox? Kpop? Instead of simply explaining concepts from notes, I connect them to experiences students already understand, like using Singapore films to explore Social Studies issues, playing games such as Mini Metro to teach transport and urban planning, and even K-pop, gaming franchises or memes that match their interests. And yes, even Roblox has educational value.

Are lessons available online and in person?

Yes. Students may choose between one-to-one online or physical lessons. Rates as published.
